I have been experimenting with this very interesting American species for the last few years. Proving to be very hardy with me. Very free flowering from May into the summer and sometimes longer. Botanically, it is a monotypic plant, meaning Engelmannia is a genus that contains absolutely zero other species—making this plant entirely unique in the world with no close botanical relatives.  Beautiful leaves, flower stems can grow to about 80cm high. Very drought tolerant, loves a free draining site in the sun.
